Hi! I'm Ashley, the petal preserver.
I am a wife, mother, home-school teacher, daughter, and friend. I enjoy traveling, writing (be sure to check out the petal preserver magazine!) playing soccer, snowboarding, jumping on my Harley, and of course: The delicate and elegant slow paced artistry of floral preservation.
The name, Free Soul Flyin' stems from Psalms 103 and represents a journey I personally experienced that ultimately resulted in freedom in Christ.
I started preserving flowers as a way of slowing down, healing, grieving, and appreciating the beautiful things my Creator has created. I fell in love with the process and started out preserving wildflowers and designing small pieces of art and handmade journals. I slowly built up towards preserving and framing wedding bouquets.
I find joy in co-creating and I look forward to expanding my experience, connecting with the community, and serving the local community.

What makes Free Soul Flyin' unique?
I have a unique style and vision that differs from other floral preservation artists. What sets me apart is just that. I am me and I do what comes naturally to me and one of those things happens to be arranging preserved flowers. I believe we ALL have amazing talents that were gifted to us by God. My gift and talent of creativity was not given to me just for me, it was intended to be shared in order to bless others. I take a minute before I arrange each bouquet and I hold this silent hope in my heart that my gift will flow through me into the bouquet just as it was intended to create beauty and that it blesses the person on the receiving end in some way, whether it be now or in the future. Another thing that sets me apart is that I do not use color correction - your flowers are preserved whole & and in their natural state which in my opinion is the most beautiful! Just as they are. In the same way, each of us, you/me are the most beautiful in our natural state, the way we were created, whole, just as you are.
I am also LOCAL to West Michigan, about 15 minutes north of Grand Rapids!

Tell me More about your unique vision -
It inspires me what can come from something that is in essence ultimately fading away. What do I mean? Your floral arrangement.
It has been cut off from the source that gives it life. The cut stems cannot receive the nutrients and source of life it needs to flourish any longer. They will only be used once for their special occasion and then will perish.
Bluntly, I gift your flowers new life! With that unique perspective, I LOVE the opportunity when I am handed a bouquet to envision them in such a way, that while they are ultimately finished with their big day, they get to go on to something more! They will be crafted into a one of a kind piece of art - and I LOVE the freedom to do just that.
It is in the midst of this standstill moment in time where I am totally centered and focused on creating and crafting art with your floral - and in this moment that each piece is able to fall perfectly into place and I just KNOW you are going to love the outcome!
I believe each floral that I receive tells a unique story and I want to ensure that you can display that unique love story with adoration and warmth of heart every time you look at it!
