this bench resembles how worn out our seats can get waiting for an answer to show up in the way that we think it should -
season after season - passing by - while we remain seated watching it all. have you ever waited so long for a response from the lord on which way to move forward with something? you gripped your seat in fear of taking another step because the last time you took a step it resulted in what 'appeared' to be clear failure and not the path you should've been taking - yet gracefully the lord followed up behind you and cleaned up your mess, out of his great love for you - how about when we can't hear the response, what do we do? fear of yet again failure has kept me glued to benches longer than i care to admit. as we decide to get up and walk again - falling doesn't mean failure if his hand is there to help you back up, if his hand is there following up behind you - if his grace covers you every step of the way - if you've learned something in the walking - taking a seat to wait on the lord doesn't mean to sit forever - sometimes the lord invites us to make decisions that require faith in his hand meeting us on the path we step forward upon - whether he meets us in a mess or in success - but fear should never keep us seated forever - wearing out benches isn't living in the freedom of the riches of his grace - get up and walk again -
