Have you ever really looked at a seed? I mean, they are bland, ordinary, dark, tiny, and it looks like absolutely nothing in comparison to what it will become. I was gifted these morning glory seeds one spring and I planted about four of them and walked away. Within months there were hundreds of beautiful glowing flowers that had climbed my fence and taken completely over. One tiny seed turned into an abundance beyond anything I could comprehend. I was totally new to flowers. I did no work, I simply planted them. What and how those seeds became is beyond words. In Mark 4:26-28, Jesus explains God's Kingdom growing this same way. All by itself, from a little seed. It is really a miracle in itself that a bland seed could create something so grandiose and extraordinary. I liken that to our lives and the way the Lord personally works within our own hearts. He is so faithful at bringing results beyond anything we could imagine. Maybe you are feeling like a seedling right now. It's dark and nothing seems to be changing, and you find yourself trying so hard to grow. The thing is, flowers don't strive, they simply root and thrive. They sit there where they've been planted and wait it out until they come out of the darkness and into the light. And suddenly all that time as a seed becomes worth the experience. Have you ever had a seed experience? Dark, lonely, afraid. I think we all have. What is even worse is that personally, I have staked a fake flower above my seed. Have you ever seen a plant and thought it was so pretty until you got close and realized it was fake? Sometimes I think we tend to do that. We don't want others to know we're in a dark place, so we put on this facade, we stake our fake flower in the ground trying to pass off as real and whole and is if everything is fine. How silly of us to think that it's not okay to be in seed form. Every single flower was once a seed and in seed form and had to go through the seed process. Every flower had to experience the process of becoming. That is the beauty of blooming. We ALL have to experience it, so there is no need to pretend. Have faith and rest in the proclamation that what God has for you, absolutely will become.
